A WORD ABOUT REFRESH GLOBAL CONFERENCESThe Refresh Conferences are designed around this idea: all who serve in ministry need times to get away and be refreshed. Jesus once said to His disciples, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while” (Mark 6:31). And I would imagine that the place was a nice, relaxing space. For our conferences, we look to find enjoyable, peaceful locations, places that have natural beauty or cultural or historical interest that add to the objective of rest and refreshment.
Another aspect to the conferences is just being together. So one of our strong convictions is to give top priority to deepening relationships. We need solid, lasting friendships as we journey through life in ministry. As we simply spend good times together—talking, eating, drinking coffee (or your preferred beverage), hiking, swimming, surfing, visiting museums or art galleries or historical monuments—our friendships are built up and strengthened. There’s honestly nothing better than the pure joy and laughter that occurs when dear friends are reunited or new friendships are made. It is truly a foretaste of heaven! Finally, we always make sure to have great times of encouragement from God’s Word. So we will worship, pray, study the Scriptures, and leave filled up and refreshed in the Holy Spirit.
